Ovid’s Metamorphoses is a fine art photography series which depicts scenes, moments, thoughts and stories of the epic poem Metamorphoses by Roman poet Ovid; inspired by his words and influenced by the beauty of literature and nature.
I started working on this series in 2024 after the experience of loss and grief, finding comfort in the thought expressed in Ovid’s work how everything that is in this world does not just vanish and just disappears, but in a way continues existing, only transformed, metamorphosed. Each image is the result of a long period of planning and organizing each image, of handcrafting the costumes and of creating the sets and the sceneries.
The series In Flower reflects on the aspect of ephemeral in fashion and beauty. All dresses are made with real flowers and plants; with the fading of the blossoms and the leaves the appearance of the dresses is constantly changing – the photos only capture a brief and fleeting moment: The blossoming flowers and fresh plants add a thought of ephemeral that finally is inherent in all beauty.
In Flower started a few years ago and over time has grown bigger in concept and realization, featured in fashion and art magazines like Malvie Magazine, Moevir Magazine, Vigour Magazine, Artells Magazine and Florists’ Review Magazine.
